Wisdom teeth that are healthy and properly positioned can be an asset to you. However, wisdom teeth are commonly misaligned, erupt (break through the skin/gum) only partially, or don’t erupt at all. They remain trapped beneath the gum and bone or are crowded by other teeth. This could cause damage to your teeth that are next to them. They are often not needed for chewing and are difficult to brush and floss. Many dentists may recommend having your wisdom teeth removed. Extractions can be performed under local anesthesia, along with Nitrous Oxide if needed. Dr. Finley is very experienced in the removal of Wisdom teeth and he makes it easy and comfortable when this procedure is needed.
